The Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra, one of the most revered pilgrimages in India, has achieved a remarkable milestone this year. By June 26, a staggering 50,01, 390 devotees had paid obeisance at the sacred cave of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi against 48,74,432 for the same period in 2023, highlighting the enduring faith and dedication of countless pilgrims from across the globe.
Nestled in the Trikuta Mountains of Jammu and Kashmir, the holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi holds profound spiritual significance for millions of Hindus. According to legend, the cave is the abode of Mata Vaishno Devi, an incarnation of the Hindu goddess Durga. The journey to the shrine is seen not merely as a physical trek but as a spiritual quest, offering pilgrims a chance to seek blessings, solace, and divine intervention.
The pilgrimage involves a trek of approximately 13 kilometers from the base camp at Katra to the holy cave.
