A Popular Festival known as \’Gole Mela\’ was organized at Jagannath temple Udhampur here today. A large number of devotees assembled and paid obeisance at Jagannath temple. Various types of stalls were established in the festivals like shops of sweet, toys, balloons and swinging.
The devotees from Udhampur district as well as outside the state along with their families enjoyed the festival.
It needs to be mentioned that Gole Mela organized twice in every Year devotees believe that from today the night time starts increasing and day time decreasing day by day.
Its need to be mentioned here that An ancient temple dedicated to Lord Jagannatha is situated in district Udhampur, that of the two ancient temples dedicated to Lord Jagannatha across India one is situated in Puri, Orissa and other in Udhampur District of Jammu and Kashmir and gole Mela organized twice in Every Year.
