Flash Mob Dance at Poonch Bus Stand Boosts Voter Awareness Ahead of Elections on Anantnag Rajouri Seat

In an effort to encourage voter participation in the upcoming general elections, the District Election Authorities, under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, organized a vibrant flash mob dance at the Poonch Bus Stand. The energetic performance aimed to draw attention to the importance of voting and to remind locals of their civic duty.
The flash mob, a surprise event for many commuters, quickly gathered a crowd. The dancers (childrens of Schools), a group of enthusiastic youths, performed to a mix of popular and motivational songs, capturing the attention of passersby. The lively event was not just about entertainment; it carried a powerful message about the significance of each vote.
Adding to the event’s impact, children handed out voter awareness pamphlets to the audience. These pamphlets contained essential information about the voting process and emphasized the date of the upcoming election on May 25. The children actively engaged with the locals, urging them to exercise their right to vote and make their voices heard.
Bishamber Dass Chief Education Officer and Nodala Officer SVEEP said We wanted to do something unique to grab the attention of the people and remind them how crucial their vote, he said the flash mob was a fun and engaging way to spread the message of mass participation in voting replying on a question he said the SVEEP program, which stands for Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation, has been instrumental in increasing voter awareness and turnout across the region. This flash mob event is one of many initiatives taken by the District Election Authorities to ensure that every eligible voter in Poonch is informed and motivated to participate in the election
