SLIUG :- DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION UDHAMPUR ORGANIZES AWARENESS PROGRAM ON INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING
District Administration Udhampur in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, Education, and Health, an awareness program was organized at the conference hall of the District Commissioner\’s office in Udhampur on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The program aimed at raising awareness about the misuse of addictive drugs and illegal trafficking.
The main guest was Joginder Singh Jasrotia, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur who inaugurated the program by lighting a lamp, and was joined by Kanika Gupta, District Social Welfare Officer,Udhampur. The attendees were sensitized about drug abuse and its severe consequences through a street-play performed during the event. Additionally, school counsellors, sports authorities, and anganwadi workers and helpers also attended the program.\”
Additional Deputy Commissioner Joginder Singh Jasrotia highlighted that various programs had been organized since two days prior to this event, including sports competitions, honouring the participants, and spreading awareness. The objective of the program was to protect the younger generation from the negative impacts of substance abuse and convey the message that addiction not only ruins their lives but also affects their families and society. The youth were encouraged to channel their energy towards sports and other constructive activities to safeguard themselves from the perils of substance abuse.
