Drugs worth over Rs 11 crore seized in Assam Guwahati, Jan 7: In a major breakthrough, Assam Police seized drugs worth over Rs 11 crore in three separate anti-narcotics operations. In a social media post, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that Cachar Police conducted an anti-narcotic operation and seized 1.17kg of suspected heroin worth Rs 5.1 crore from Dighar Fulertol. In another operation, 73.97 kg of ganja worth Rs 38 lakh was seized from Dhanehari under the Sonai Police Station. Meanwhile, Karbi Anglong Police intercepted a bus at Dillai Tiniali, which was coming from a neighbouring state, and confiscated 1.22 kg of suspected heroin worth Rs 6 crore. These operations highlight the ongoing efforts of the Assam Police to combat the drug menace in the region.
