Mega Youth Convention 2024 Observed at University of Kashmir on World Drug Addiction Day
Srinagar, June 26, 2024: The Kashmir University Youth Division, under the aegis of the Department of Students\’ Welfare, University of Kashmir, organized a Mega Youth Convention 2024 today in observance of World Drug Addiction Day. The event took place in the Youth Open Air Theatre and witnessed participation from students across various university teaching departments.
The convention featured a series of engaging activities, including insightful discussions, a poster presentation, and an open-air musical concert focusing on the theme of drug addiction. These activities aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug addiction and to promote a drug-free lifestyle among the youth.
Addressing the convention, Prof. Naseer Iqbal, Registrar of the University of Kashmir, emphasized the moral and institutional responsibility to spread awareness about drug addiction. \”We are committed to providing more opportunities and state-of-the-art facilities to our students through the Youth Club, which is the heartbeat of our University,\” he stated.
Earlier, Prof. Shamim Ahmad, Dean of Students\’ Welfare, welcomed the guests and the youth attendees. The University Cultural officer conducted the event, ensuring its smooth execution.
To further commemorate World Drug Addiction Day, a rally was organized within the campus, attracting a large number of students who actively participated, chanting slogans advocating for a drug-free society.
